BAYER ENGINEERING OFFICE BUILDING
60,000 SQ
Bayer Corporation’s engineering campus, located 40 miles east of Downtown Houston, needed to accommodate its constantly shifting engineering teams while providing a work atmosphere that would draw young, up-and-coming engineering talent away from the lure of traditional Downtown and Energy Corridor offices. The company had outgrown its existing 30,000 S.F. space and wanted a new expansion that drew inspiration from the original campus’ design elements. The new building was to mirror the existing building of half its intended size. This included offering large floor plates to maximize team flexibility, while still keeping in scale with its surroundings, honoring the existing building and site planning while adding a building twice the originally-planned size. English + Associates designed a space with a more efficient building envelope that offered increased day-lighting for a healthier, more attractive work environment.
