Neighborhood context for this adaptive reuse project was a critical part of getting a “Certificate of Appropriateness” from the local Historic Preservation department.  The design scope included converting an abandoned two-story warehouse into a commercial office on Level 1 with a private residence on Level 2.  The existing building was built to the property line on all four sides, creating the need to adjust the second-floor envelope to provide views and exit-ways from the residence.  The exterior design honors the massing and industrial style of the original building and has parking incorporated into the ground floor.
